John J. Morris joined Kelly, Rode & Kelly, LLP as an associate in 2005. He handles the defense of general negligence claims, including products liability, insurance law and labor law litigation. He has 25 years of experience in the field. Mr. Morris had worked as a litigation attorney for American International Group (AIG) in its personal injury defense staff counsel office for 16 years before joining Kelly, Rode & Kelly, LLP.
Mr. Morris grew up in Queens and earned his undergraduate degree at St. John's University. He later earned his law degree from St. John's University School of Law where he was on the dean's list for his entire law school career. Mr. Morris has been admitted to practice before the Court of the State of New York for over 30 years and in the United States Eastern District of New York for over 20 years. He has been a member of the New York State Bar Association for his entire legal career.
Mr. Morris particularly enjoys defending the many persons who have been sued who are unfamiliar with litigation because he is able to explain the process, and how they are best defended by their active participation in the defense.
