Mr. A. Shamel D. Manuel became an Associate with Kelly, Rode & Kelly, LLP in January 2019. He primarily handles cases involving all aspects of civil litigation, including negligence, automobile accidents, personal injury, and property damage.
Mr. Manuel holds an Associate of Applied Science degree in Marketing Management from the City University of New York where he was a Dean’s List student, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminology from John Jay College from which he was graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2015. He earned his Juris Doctor degree in 2017 as a member of Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center’s inaugural Two-Year Accelerated Honors Program, where he earned CALI awards for Oral Advocacy and Law Practice Management. Additionally, Mr. Manuel was not only a member of the Moot Court Honors Board where he competed and coached in National Moot Court competitions, he also served on the Moot Court Executive Board as Program Editor, mentored incoming members of the Two Year Honors Program, and participated in The Justice Institute with the Honorable Joseph F. Bianco. Mr. Manuel was admitted to the New York State Bar in 2018.
Prior to joining Kelly, Rode & Kelly, LLP, Mr. Manuel gained civil and criminal law exposure through employment with notable law firms in Nassau and Suffolk Counties of New York. Mr. Manuel also externed with a prominent federal Civil Rights firm for one year and gained invaluable insight into trial strategies.
A native New Yorker, Mr. Manuel enjoys wearing the hats of Chef, Public Speaker and Turntablist in his leisure time.
