Shannon E. Fillmore joined the law firm of Kelly, Rode & Kelly, LLP in August 2019 and became Associate upon admission to the New York State Bar in May 2020. Ms. Fillmore handles matters in the firm’s general liability practice, focusing on the defense of negligence lawsuits involving automobile accidents, premises liability, and property damage.
Ms. Fillmore obtained her Bachelor’s Degree from Concordia University Irvine in 2014, with a major in Psychology and minor in History. She was admitted to the New York State Bar in May 2020. She obtained her Juris Doctorate in from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University in May 2019. While at law school, Ms. Fillmore was an Articles Editor on the Journal of International Business and Law and the Director of Intramural Competitions on The Moot Court Board. She was a member of the Moot Court Interscholastic Competition Team where she competed at the Touro Law and Religion Moot Court Competition in spring 2018 and the Kaufman Securities Law Moot Court Competition at Fordham Law School in spring 2019. She also participated in the Hofstra Law Pro Se Legal Assistance Program where she assisted Hofstra Law professors in giving case assistance to pro se litigants.
She held internships at two personal injury defense law firms and participated in the Student Honors Program at the U.S. Securities Exchange Commission as an intern in the Spring of 2019.
Ms. Fillmore is a member of the New York State Bar Association.
Outside of her legal practice, she enjoys spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys traveling, cooking, hiking, yoga, and kayaking.
