About Me

Hilary M. Wissemann is a Partner at Kelly, Rode & Kelly, LLP, where she represents clients in complex, high-exposure litigation involving automobile liability, premises liability, and medical malpractice claims. Known for her strategic approach, meticulous preparation, and practical judgment, she is dedicated to guiding clients through every stage of litigation with confidence, responsiveness, and clear communication.

Having joined the firm as a legal intern in 2011, Hilary has spent her entire legal career at Kelly, Rode & Kelly. Her experience provides her with a deep understanding of the firm's values and longstanding commitment to exceptional client service. Clients value her not only for her legal acumen but also for her accessibility and genuine investment in their success. She believes that effective advocacy begins with listening, earning trust, and maintaining open communication throughout the litigation process. Her commitment to client service, combined with her focus on achieving favorable and efficient resolutions, has earned her the confidence of clients, colleagues, and adversaries alike.

Within the firm, Hilary is passionate about mentoring the next generation of attorneys. She plays an active role in training and developing junior lawyers, sharing both litigation strategy and the practical skills that contribute to successful client representation. She takes particular pride in fostering a collaborative environment where attorneys are encouraged to grow while maintaining the firm's high standards of professionalism and excellence.

In recognition of her professional accomplishments, Hilary has been selected to New York Super Lawyers Rising Stars for eight consecutive years, an honor recognizing outstanding attorneys who have distinguished themselves through peer recognition and professional achievement. She also serves on the board of the Nassau Suffolk Trial Lawyers Association.

Hilary earned her undergraduate degree from St. John's University before receiving her Juris Doctor from St. John's University School of Law. While in law school, she served as a Senior Staff Member of the St. John's International Law Review. She also completed a rigorous Mediator Certification Program sponsored by the New York State Office of Court Administration. She is admitted to practice before all New York State courts, as well as the United States Eastern District of New York.

Outside of her legal practice, Hilary enjoys being a yoga teacher and spending time with her husband and their two young daughters.
